Tara Norris, the only Associate nation player in the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023, set twitter on fire as she ran through Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) while bowling for the Delhi Capitals (DC).
Introduced in the 10th over, Norris castled the stumps of Ellyse Perry on the third delivery before dismissing Disha Kasat on the fifth delivery of the same over. In her second over, the 24-year-old left-arm pacer helped Delhi get rid of Richa Ghosh. The Pennsylvania-born cricketer then got the wicket of Kanika Ahuja and stood the chance of becoming the first-ever player in WPL history to pick up a hat-trick. However, Asha Shobana avoided it by taking a single on the fourth delivery of the 13th over. By the end of Norris' second over her bowling figures read 4/6 as RCB were left reeling at 96 runs for the loss of six wickets. In the fourth over, she got another big wicket and sent Heather Knight packing to register the first five-wicket haul of the WPL. She ended with match figures of 4-0-29-5.
The stellar show from Norris ensured Delhi's thumping 60-run win over Bangalore.
Twitter went into a frenzy after witnessing Norris run through the star-studded batting line-up. Here are a few of the best reactions.

Earlier in the day, after being asked to bat, Delhi Capitals openers set the Brabourne Stadium on fire and scored a fifty each to help their team score a record 223 runs for the loss of just two wickets. The total is now the second-highest in the history of women's T20 cricket.
Australia T20 World Cup-winning captain Meg Lanning blasted 72 runs off 43 balls, while star India opener Shafali Verma scored 84 off 45 to forge a 162-run partnership off just 87 balls. Lanning smashed a total of 14 fours, while Shafali hit ten cracking fours apart from four maximums.
South Africa Women star Marizanne Kapp and Jemimah Rodrigues capitalised on the momentum and scored 39(17) and 22(15) unbeaten runs each to help Delhi Capitals Women post the highest total of the inaugural Women's Premier League (WPL). In the opening match against Gujarat Giants on Saturday, Mumbai Indians Women posted 207 runs for the loss of five wickets. Their captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 65 off 30. Later, Gujarat were bowled out for 64 runs only.
