Bengaluru, December 2: Arsenal are reportedly considering making a move for AC Milan striker Andre Silva after new AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso suggested that £33m striker Andre Silva could be sold in January.

Silva was reportedly a long-term target of Arsenal boss Wenger. However, Wenger could not make the most use of his target as the Portuguese hotshot signed for the San Siro Outfit this summer from Porto on a five-year deal.

The Milan based side are struggling with their form despite bringing eleven new players and spending near about £175m. This downturn caused the former manager Montella losing his job and making club legend Gattuso taking charge at the club for a temporary basis till the end of the season.

Silva has already appeared eight times in the Serie A, however, is yet to score his debut goal. While on the other hand, in the Europa League, he has already bagged seven goals, making him the club's top scorer in the competition and also inspired the team to reach the top of the group.

However, in his first conference earlier this week, the former Italy international surprisingly hinted at Silva’s possible departure and questioned the Portugal international's future at the club.

"He is a player with great qualities and is also very young, I think he has a good rating in the transfer market. He can be sold easily, especially since I have not seen him do a one-two in a long time," Gattuso said.

And now according to popular French media, Gattuso’s comments have put long-term admirer Arsene Wenger on red-alert and the Arsenal boss is ready to revive his interest on the player and willing to submit a bid for the player in the January transfer window.

Arsenal are currently in disarray after two of their star players, Ozil and Sanchez who have six months left on their contracts refused to sign the contract extension with the club. Both the players are also believed to be keen to move in January transfer window.

In such position, Wenger is believed to be looking for a long-term attacking replacement and has raised their interest in the emerging star who scored nine goals during Portugal's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign and impressed last season with 21 goals in 44 appearances for Porto.
