Bengaluru, January 31: Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a deadline day move for Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid.

Arsene Wenger has vowed to strengthen his attack since the departure of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United and the process has already started.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has already been signed as a part of the Sanchez deal and the Gunners are also set to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the deadline day.

Meanwhile, Wenger is also exploring the opportunity to sign Belgian winger Yannick Ferreira Cassasco whom he admires from a long time.

It is believed that Wenger is willing to pay £44million to acquire his services from Atletico Madrid in the summer, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Carrasco is highly rated in Spain and would be a formidable threat as a part of the Gunners revamped front line next season.

But the wide-man's contract at the Wanda Metropolitana isn't due to expire until 2020 and Carrasco comes with a £88m release clause.

Though manager Diego Simeone has struggled to deal with the 24-year old who has had a tumultuous stay in Madrid having had several run-ins with team-mates and coaches.

The Argentinian manager was thought to have made Carrasco available this winter having been left disappointed with his performances.

The winger has scored just four times in 26 appearances in all competitions for Atletico this season.

Wenger has reportedly been watching the Belgium international for a number of years and was particularly impressed with his performances in the Champions League three years ago in AS Monaco colours.

Carrasco, aged just 21 at the time. scored his first Champions League goal for Monaco in a 3-1 win over the Gunners at the Emirates.
