Bengaluru, December 28: Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to let Chelsea target Yannick Ferreira Carrasco leave the club next month.

Chelsea tried to sign the Belgian winger last summer but were unable to convince his employers to sell the Belgian wizard.

However, according to reports in Spain, the La Liga side are preparing a major overhaul of the squad after a disappointing campaign in the Champions League this season.

And newspaper AS claim Carrasco is one of the players they have decided to make available to help bring in some funds.

Manager Diego Simeone has struggled to deal with the 24-year-old, who has had several run-ins with team-mates and coaches in the past 18 months.

The situation has reached the stage where Carrasco was left angry after the club blocked him making a trip back to Belgium while he was out injured.

Having fallen down the pecking order for a starting role at the Wanda Metropolitana, Simeone has decided Carrasco is among three players he would allow to leave in January.

The Argentine will also have Vitolo and Diego Costa joining the squad in January. So, it should not be a problem for them to cope without the Belgian.

That will alert Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who had hoped to take the attacking midfielder to Stamford Bridge last summer.

That move failed to materialise, but now Atletico are open to doing business Conte could be tempted to make another move during the transfer window.

The Italian is looking to add depth and quality to a squad he has complained is too thin over the past few months.

And though there are concerns about his attitude away from the pitch, his talent is not in doubt and Conte would be confident he could get the Belgian to knuckle down.

But if the Chelsea boss does make another move in the next few weeks, he may find himself in competition with Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga giants have also made their interest known as they seek to maintain their dominance in Germany.

Carrasco is now returning to full fitness after a knee injury, but his chances of playing at Atletico with his relationship with Simeone strained are limited.
