Barca President Bartomeu quashes Arda Turan to Galatasaray rumours

Camp Nou, Dec 7: Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has dismissed the rumours of selling Barcelona misfit Arda Turan in the January window following amid growing speculation over a return to his boyhood club Galatasaray.

Many reports have claimed that Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in getting former player Arda Turan back to the club from Barcelona after the midfielder's career looks to have hit a block.

The 30-year-old has failed to have an impact at Camp Nou since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2015 where he showed up only in 36 matches, contributing only five goals in the La Liga.

Also, there were reports that his former club is eager to take him on loan in January whereas Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea were also said to be interested in him.

However, in an interview with Turkish publication Fanatik (h/t Mundo Deportivo) the club's president, Bartomeu now has declared he has not received any offer from any club and he would like to see Turan remain in Spain with them.

He said, "Arda Turan is one of the important players of our team. Obviously, I want him to continue his sports career here with us.

"Now he was inactive because of an injury, but he is already in better shape. We will see what happens when he is fully recovered and ready for his coach.

"We have not received any official offer from Galatasaray or any other club by Arda Turan. The future of Arda Turan is in your hands. It will be he who will finally decide his destiny."

Turan has not made a single appearance for Barcelona's first team this season under new manager Ernesto Valverde due to consistent injury and currently healing from a bruised toe.

However with Paco Alcacer, Dennis Suarez and Gerard Deulofeu already ahead of him in the pecking order, in the coming time it can be hard for the Turkish international to have a regular place in the squad which can be a big factor for his transfer movement.
