Bayern Munich to offer new contracts to Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery

Berlin, Feb 2: Bayern Munich are set to hand two new fresh contracts to veteran Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben who will be out of contract in the summer.

Both the 34-year-old have been playing a secondary role this season and injury issues have hampered their involvement in the first team on a regular basis.

In their absence, Coman and James have taken the mantle from them and with another winger Serge Gnabry set to come back from loan next year, there were rumours surfacing that both the players could opt another club for a better paycheck and game time.

But now according to Popular German media house Bild, both the players will be offered a new deal of one year, however, there will be terms related to it.

Robben will be handed a fresh contract only if he avoids long-term injury issues whereas Ribery will be offered an extension which will see him accepting a reduced role in the squad.

Both the players, who had been a regular inclusion for the last couple of season has seen their impact somewhat reduced this season because of fitness issues as Robben only started 12 Bundesliga games, scoring three goals whereas Ribery only made eight league starts scoring once.

Apart from these two, other two players goalkeeper Sven Ulreich and defender Rafinha are also on the verge of their contracts end having only six months however the Bavarian side have reportedly offered both of them a new deal.

Ulreich currently has been playing the first choice after Neuer's injury and has been impressive so far. The German keeper is expected to be offered a new long-term contract which the player is apparently happy to pen down.

However, there has been uncertainty over Rafinha's new contract as it is believed that the Brazilain defender is not eager to tie himself down to a new contract as he wants to return to his hometown in Brazil.
