BREAKING NEWS: Casillas suffers heart attack

Porto have confirmed World Cup-winning goalkeeper Iker Casillas suffered a heart attack in training on Wednesday.

Porto, May 1: Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas suffered a heart attack during training on Wednesday (May 1) but is recovering in hospital, the club have confirmed.

37-year-old Casillas has reportedly had the incident during a training session with his current club FC Porto. But is understood he is out of danger now, according to BBC Sport.

The club have said he is “stable” in hospital and remains under observation. However the former Real Madrid player will be unable to play for the rest of the season.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claimed Casillas felt pain on the pitch during training. Several newspapers suggest that he is out of danger now and will make a full return.
