Bengaluru, December 5: Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being chased by a host of Premier League sides as Crystal Palace, West Ham, Newcastle and Bournemouth fight for his signature.

The Chelsea midfielder forced his way into the England World Cup squad after a successful loan spell at Selhurst Park last term and hoped it would elevate his status at Stamford Bridge.

However, the 22-year-old has struggled for game time under new boss Maurizio Sarri, featuring in just nine games all season and only four in the Premier League, seeing just 119 minutes of top-flight action.

Chelsea blocked several loan deals in August and Loftus-Cheek admits as clubs queue up for him in January, it has been a tough few months.

Loftus-Cheek said: “Every player goes through tough times. From playing a lot to not playing a lot is tough.

“I have a good family and friends who help me when times are tough which is always good for me.

“Also I am strong individually to know what I want in the future. I will always believe I will get to where I want if I keep my head down.”

Apart from the clubs in England, there is interest from abroad with Bundesliga side Schalke being expected to reignite their interest in the playmaker who scored his fifth goal in five games when the Blues beat Fulham on Sunday (December 2).

He added: “I try not to think too much about the future. I can’t think that far ahead (to the end of the season), I can only think about what’s happening right now.

“There’s loads of games so loads of rotation, so we all need to be ready physically and mentally for this.

“My head right now is on playing for Chelsea and learning Sarri’s way.”

He said: “When I get the opportunity to play I have got to do my best and to try and make stuff happen but also do what the manager asks me to do defensively.

“Me scoring goals is looking good at the moment. I look to improve on that — I always try to see myself as a goalscoring midfielder.

“Hopefully I can build on this run.”
