Bengaluru, August 9: Galatasaray are interested in getting former player Arda Turan back to the club from Barcelona after the midfielder's career looks to have hit a block.
The 30-year-old has failed to have an effect at the Camp Nou since joining from Atletico Madrid two years ago and showed up only in 36 matches, contributing only five goals.
Earlier there were reports that Turan was enclosing a move to Arsenal and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was also said to be interested in Turan last year.
But in spite of all these, the player's agent rubbished all these transfer news to the reports earlier last month and demanded that he would spend this season in Spain.
However, now as indicated by Sporx, the former Turkey international is currently setting out for a move to Galatasaray, who have concurred a £2.2m deal with Barca to take him for the year on loan.
Different reports in Turkey also claimed that the player has even offered himself to Atletico Madrid, who he joined Barca from in 2015, however, the Spanish club is mostly ignorant to take the player again.
Their president Dursun Ozbek also said on Tuesday that they are working on a transfer for the playmaker, however, he did not mention whether their offer is currently for a loan or for a permanent deal.
"Arda Turan is a true Galatasaray fan," Ozbek told Hurriyet. "He is a player I love. As a player, he has always represented us well and been an ambassador for the club. He's a true son of Galatasaray.
"Our biggest desire is for Arda to return to Galatasaray and end his career where it all started for him. We are working towards making this a reality."
Arda, who made his career debut at Galatasaray in 2004, remained at the Lions until joining Atletico Madrid in 2011.
