La Liga on social media: Clubs join the fun as Twitter launches fleets

The week that went by saw Twitter launch fleets, a new function that allows users to make posts that disappear after 24 hours.

Real Madrid

Bengaluru, November 24: Clubs across Spain were busy on social media as the Spanish La Liga action returned after the international break in the past weekend.

The week that went by saw Twitter launch fleets, a new function that allows users to make posts that disappear after 24 hours.

With MSL Media inputs, myKhel.com takes a quick look at some of the top social media moments from around La Liga in the week that went by.

Real welcomes fleets

With Twitter launching fleets, a new function that allows users to make posts that disappear after 24 hours, several clubs joined the fun.

Real Madrid even gave fleets a special welcome by printing a unique football shirt.

World Children's Day

November 20 is World Children's Day and several La Liga Santander sides shared social media posts to mark the occasion, including Barcelona and Valencia.

Many Spanish football clubs fund a lot of important charity work that focuses on supporting children, both in Spain and abroad, and clubs took the time this week to explain the significance of these efforts.

Remembering a legendary fan

Legendary Eibar fan Blas passed away earlier this month and the Basque club paid tribute to him before Sunday's La Liga match against Getafe.

Blas always attended matches at Ipurua with a colourful umbrella, which was placed at the side of the pitch along with some flowers by a group of players and club president Amaia Gorostiza. Various images and messages were also posted on social media.

Finding a passport

Villarreal CF's Pervis Estupinan was away on international duty with Ecuador and netted his first international goal in their big 6-1 win over Colombia. His week took a sudden turn, though, when he lost his suitcase and passport!

But after putting a call out for help out on social media, he was reunited with his luggage and passport and managed to fly back to Spain in time to take on Real Madrid.

Going crazy over Copa draw

The draw has been made for the first round of the 2020-21 Copa del Rey and several fourth-tier clubs have been drawn against La Liga sides.

For these small clubs, this is a dream come true and several of them shared their excitement with fans on social media. CE Cardassar and Terrassa FC, for example, shared videos of the moment they found out they would be facing Atletico Madrid and Valencia.
