Buenos Aires, Aug 16: Former Argentina football team coach, Maradona, may join an English Premier League club.

English media reported that the football legend is becoming the next manager of Aston Villa replacing Martin O'Neill who resigned. Mardona's European representative Walter Soriano told that Maradona was very open to the idea of coming to England.

Aston Villa responded that it will not rush to name a successor to Martin O'Neill. Maradona"s links with England go back long before the 1986 quarter-final when he scored twice in Argentina"s 2-1 win. His controversial 'Hand of God' goal knocked England out of 1986 World Cup.

Argentina Football Association terminated Maradona's term as the national coach after Argentina's 4-0 World Cup quarter-final defeat by Germany.
