Milan Skriniar not interested in Barcelona or Manchester United

Reports claim that Skriniar has been closely monitored by the Red Devils and the Catalans, however the Slovakian insists he is happy in Italy and has no intention of leaving this summer.

Bengaluru, March 22: Manchester United and Barcelona have been knocked back in their chase of Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, according to reports in Italy.

Jose Mourinho is looking to revamp his squad in the summer and wants to add another centre-back to bolster his defensive options and had his sights on Milan Skriniar of Inter.

The 23-year-old has made 28 appearances for the Italian giants this season, scoring four times and his performances have caught the eye of Europe’s elite.

Skriniar has 14 caps for Slovakia featured in the loss to England at Wembley in September.

Reports claim that the towering defender has been closely monitored by the Red Devils and the Catalans, however the Slovakian insists he is happy in Italy and has no intention of leaving this summer.

Skriniar revealed at his country’s Footballer of the Year awards: “I really like Inter.

“I am very happy to be here and it will be nice to make a career like the one that Marek Hamsik has had at Napoli.”

The defender’s agent, Karol Csonto, also quashed speculation surrounding his man, but did admit a huge offer may be too good for Inter to turn down.

Csonto said in November: “He signed a five-year contract with Inter in the summer, so no one within the club is thinking about selling him.

“It may happen that someone offers so much money that Inter have to consider it, but I don’t want to speculate if it would be €50m (£43m) or €70m (£63m).

“He’s doing really well in Milan, he’s playing well so obviously his price is increasing.”

With the player not looking keen on a move, Barcelona and Manchester United might have to look elsewhere to shore up their backline.
