Bengaluru, May 28: Liverpool could reportedly face interest from Paris Saint-Germain for James Milner this summer with the French giants linked with making a surprise swoop, according to reports.

Milner is entering the final month of his Anfield contract and could be making his final appearance for the Reds as they face Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.

Should he not sign a new deal, Milner will be available for free this summer and it reportedly has alerted the Parc Des Princes side.

Though Thomas Tuchel's side retained the Ligue 1 title last, they endured yet another disappointing campaign in the Champions League. The French winners suffered a shocking defeat in the hands of Manchester United in the round of 16.

The consecutive setbacks reportedly have made the French management thinking of changing their transfer policy and it is now understood that they are looking to reinforce the side with not only talents but also experience and leadership.

PSG are set to clear out their squad this summer in a bid to comply with Financial Fair Play. Adrien Rabiot will depart the club on a free transfer this summer after refusing a new contract with the club, while players like Julian Draxler, Christopher Nkunku and Thomas Meunier, Christopher Nkuku, Stanley Nsoki and Eric Choupo-Moting are also expected to go.

And it is now claimed Tuchel - who recently signed a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions wants to fill the void with experienced names and apparently sees the 33-year-old Reds players as the perfect choice to fill the gaps.

Milner has made over 150 appearances for the Reds since joining from Manchester City in 2015 and featured as both a midfielder and left-back in Jurgen Klopp's side. He has played 44 times this season, helping the club record their best ever season in the Premier League as they finished as runners-up behind City including 11 appearances in Liverpool's Champions League campaign, which has seen the Reds reach the final for the second successive season.

Being one of the fan favourites as well as Klopp's close confidant, Liverpool will surely have no interest in losing him this summer, however, after four long years, the player could seek for a different challenge in a different country in quest of more silverware.

Milner though could be the third midfield arrival for the Parsian's if he ultimately signs for the French giants. PSG are expected to soon announce the arrival of Ander Herrera from Manchester United on a free deal while a deal for Napoli midfielder Allan is also believed to be on the cards.
