Roma to make deadline day move for Manchester United outcast

It is not the first time Blind has been linked with a move away in recent months, after Marca reported that Barcelona were keen on the Dutchman in December.

Daley Blind (5) linked with Roma

Bengaluru, January 31: Manchester United defender Daley Blind is a deadline day target for Roma, who are searching for a suitable candidate to fill the void left by Emerson Palmieri's move to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old Dutch international is a popular figure at Old Trafford but is currently injured after damaging ankle ligaments in training.

Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United manager, had played Blind in every competitive domestic and European cup match this season up until last Friday's FA Cup win over Yeovil Town.

However, the versatile Dutchman has struggled for playing time in the Premier League.

Blind is in the final year of his contract and has been open to a move as he considers his future. Roma also tried to sign him last year.

It is not the first time Blind has been linked with a move away in recent months, after Marca reported that Barcelona were keen on the Dutchman in December.

Nothing came of that rumoured interest, but there could now be movement for Blind before the window shuts on Wednesday night.

Bind is a player no manager in the world would want to lose given the versatility he possesses.

The Dutchman is capable of playing at the heart of the defence as well as a left-back.

He is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder and is a technically gifted player.

Possessing a brilliant range of passing and crossing ability, the Dutchman deserves more playing time at Old Trafford otherwise Mourinho will eventually have to lose the former Ajax man.
