New Delhi, Aug 6: Atanu Das missed bronze medal by a whisker in the Rio Olympics 2016. He finished at fourth place after a brave fight against the seeded Chinese archer in the semi-final round.

Das, who is one of the most promising and prodigious archers in the country, has been in search of rejuvenation ever since his exit at Rio.

His sole aim is to return with a medal from Olympics and the Kolkata boy has set eyes on Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

The archer left Kolkata on Saturday (August 5) for Germany to take part in the World Cup Stage four championship.

Before leaving for Germany, Atanu asserted saying, "Even though there are a lot of important championships next year, my eyes are set on Tokyo Olympics. I want to win there and make up for the disappointment and pain of returning from Rio without a medal."

In a bid to reach the perfection, Atanu has been training very hard at the Sports Authority of India center in Kolkata and also in a range, built up the military base in Pune for the last couple of years that he has not even returned to home in Kolkata in this time!

He along with Deepika Kumari had undergone an intensive psychological training organised by sports motivator Mrinal Chakrabarty.

Still, the 2-year-old archer attributed all the credit to legendary South Korean coach Hyung Kim-Tak behind his recent transformation.

Atanu went to Gosan, around 200 kilometers from Seoul, South Korea in last February to attend Kim's classes in his academy.

Atanu had stayed there for around a month. On Sunday Atanu clarified, "Staying in the academy for a month at Kim's academy in Gosan has changed my philosophy and approach towards the game."

"I have learned from the legendary coach that how just before any crucial match you will be able to keep yourself completely cool and design your plans. I have been extremely benefited by Kim's coaching. I am also planning to go to Gosan again before the Asian Games next year and before the Tokyo Olympics," he added further.
