Banned wrestler Narsingh Yadav resumes training with old vigor, thanks wife for comeback

New Delhi, Aug 12: Narsingh Pancham Yadav, the Indian international wrestler, who was banned for four years on the day he was preparing to take part in 2016 Rio Olympics.

He along with his coach Jagmal Singh had reached Rio. But around half-an-hour before his competition, Narsingh received the blow from Court of Arbitration (CAS) that he would have to face four years' ban after the court found him guilty of doping.

After returning from Rio Narsingh Pancham Yadav had almost quit wrestling out of depression!

He always looked morose and did not have intensity in training.

Jagmal Singh, while talking to myKhel.com over the phone on the issue from Mumbai, said "Narsingh is basically an introvert. He does not want to speak out even if he lands in severe crisis. Still, he could not avoid his frustration. He used to come to training. But there was no intensity in his training that time."

Narsingh, however, is a revived man now. It is better to say that he is a rejuvenated person and this psychological transformation started only three months ago when the 28-year old wrestler got married in March this year.

The name of his wife is Shilpi Sheoran. She is also a professional wrestler. She drew the attention of the Indian wrestling fraternity after having won gold in the SAF Games in Guwahati, last year.

Interestingly, the 26-year-old wrestler who started wrestling at the age of only 14 has been training under Jagmal Singh for past six months.

The experienced coach added saying, "She is extremely talented. Her ground-play and sense of position are simply outstanding. After their marriage, Narsingh brought her to my training at Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Mumbai.

"Narsingh nowadays trains with her wife and also guides following the discussion with me. Shilpi has gone to Paris to participate in World Championship, to be held from 16th August to 23rd August."

The most interesting fact is that Narsingh and his coach also are trying to gain inspiration from Shilpi's success.

Narsigh's coach Jagmal explained, "Now Narsingh gets encouraged by Shilpi's success. He has brought intensity in the training. He has resumed training as he used to do it before the Rio Olympics. Now till his suspension gets over in 2019 or before, he will feel the joy and happiness whenever Shilpi will get medals."
