Women's discus thrower Seema Punia won silver while the table tennis men's duo of Achanta Sharath Kamal and Anthony Amalraj lost in the final to settle for silver. The other medal of the day was a bronze from Pinki Jangra in women's boxing.
India, however, had one more medal on the day when weightlifter Swati Singh was awarded bronze after the gold medallist from Nigeria Chika Amalaha failed a dope test. In the same event, Santoshi Matsa had won bronze and now she moved up to second to take silver. The event was held on July 25.
India now has 51 medals and remained fifth in the standings. In CWG 2010 at New Delhi, India won a record 101 medals (38 Gold, 27 Silver, 36 Bronze).
