Indian colts maintain unbeaten run on US tour

Charleston, US, Jul 25 (UNI) The India U-16 team maintained their unbeaten run as they wrapped up the exposure cum training tour with a 2-2 draw in their last encounter against Reading Rage from Reading, Pennsylvania.

India surged into the lead in the 14th minute with a Prem Kumar goal. Malasawmfela went up for a header against Rage goalkeeper Tim White. The ball fell to the waiting Kumar who sent the ball sailing into the net.

The Rage equalised just seven minutes later when Kevin Mathews got a toe on a miss played ball and flicked it over the outstretched arms India keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

The teams continued to battle in the midfield creating a number of chances but were tied 1-1 at the breather.

India regained the lead after Tirthankar Sarkar smashed home a volley just inside the penalty area in the 50th minute.

Tyler Regan scored the second equaliser for the Rage off a pass from Kevin Mathews in injury time.

Despite several more chances, neither team could break the deadlock in the injury time as the match ended with the score level at 2-2.
