Jharkhand downs Chhattisgarh in sub-junior national basketball

Kapurthala, Jun 16 (UNI) Jharkhand piped Chhattisgarh by a solitary point (35-34) in the boys' section on the opening day of the 35th sub-junior basketball championship here.

In other matches yesterday, Kerala routed Chandigarh 46-13, Rajasthan trounced Gujarat 59-06 and Tamil Nadu beat Madhya Pradesh 53-46.

In the girls' section, Chhattisgarh toyed with Gujarat as they thrased them 80-05, Jharkhand defeated Kerala 35-16 while Madhya Pradesh beat Rajasthan 29-18.
