Mah's top shuttlers to vie for honour in 19th Rainbow championship

Pune, Aug 8 (UNI) Top flight shuttlers from all over the state will vie for honours in the 19th Rainbow and 66th Junior Inter-state and Open Badminton championship, which gets underway at the WIE complex here, from August 23 to 28.

Rainbow Sports Club chairman and international referee Uday Sane, in a release here today, said the inter-district championship will be played on the first two days, that is August 23 and 24, and will be followed by the open events to be held for boys and girls singles and doubles, sub-junior boys and girls singles and doubles, midget boys singles and doubles, and mini boys and girls singles.

The team events will be held for boys and girls under-19 and under-16 respectively, the release added.

A total prize money of Rs 68,000 will be at stake in the four team championship and 14 individual events.

The last date for acceptance of entry is August 15, the release added.
