Bengaluru, February 12: The undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr has received a huge offer to fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor under MMA rules, according to boxing coach Robert Garcia.

Mayweather last week hinted that he is ready to take part in a mixed martial arts fight via a series of Instagram posts, which is currently the talk in the combat sports world.

The recent social media antics by the pair has led to talk of a rematch. In August last year, Mayweather came out of retirement and defeated McGregor via a tenth round TKO in a 'mega money' boxing match.

Now, McGregor is open to a rematch with the 'Money', but only inside the Octagon.

"I'm excited, let's see. I just landed so I'll check it out. But, I'm up for it," McGregor told Adam Glyn.

"He should. I went into his game, he should come into mine."

Mayweather's potential entry into the eight-sided cage has been laughed off by many, who believe the 40-year-old is seeking out attention.

However, according to Garcia, Floyd has received an offer to fight in the UFC.

"I said it four years ago that Mayweather is going to end up fighting in the cage, and I wouldn't be surprised if he does," Garcia told Fight Hype.

I heard they made him a huge offer. So if the money's right. Mayweather will do it."

Garcia believes Mayweather can cause a huge upset should he fight McGregor in the UFC, .

"With his boxing skills, I think he can beat him," he said. "Now he's giving us that hint. I wouldn't be surprised.

"I think he'll perform well, because he's probably been training for the last 3, 4 years. He's not going to come into the cage without any MMA skills."

"I think he still beats Conor with just his boxing skills," he added.
