Monaco, Feb 15: The Laureus World Sports Awards or the 'Oscar of Sports' as it is popularly known as took place in Monaco yesterday, February 14 to honour the sporting heroes across the world.

Bolt wins Laureus 'Sportsman of the Year'

Usain Bolt, the greatest sprinter of all time, won the Sportsman of the Year award for the fourth time and joined the likes of Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Kenny Slater.

Bolt pipped the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James to win the award.

Among the other notable winners, American Baseball side Chicago Cubs won the Laureus Team of the Year award for winning the Major League Baseball World Series after 108 years.

English Premier League champions Leicester City won the special Laureus Spirit of Sport award for their fairytale glory last year.

American gymnast and Rio Olympics gold medalist Simone Biles won the Sportswoman of the Year award and the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps won the "Comeback of the Year" award.
