President Pranab Mukherjee keenly following Glasgow Games

New Delhi, July 29: President Pranab Mukherjee has been keenly following the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and also sending individual messages to all medal winners.

Today, the President took time out and wrote congratulatory messages to shooters Jitu Rai, Gurpal Singh, Gagan Narang and weightlifter Vikas Thakur for winning medals at the Games in Glasgow in their respective disciplines.

While Rai and Singh won gold and silver medals in the 50m pistol men's event, Narang won silver in the Men's 50m Rifle Prone event and Thakur won silver medal in men's 85kg weightlifting. India has so far won seven gold medals, 13 silver and seven bronze.

In his individual messages, the President congratulated and wished them continued success in their future endeavours and said their achievements have made the nation proud and is an inspiration for other Indian sports persons.
