Rio Olympics 2016: Narsingh Yadav's mother demand a CBI probe

By Ians English

Lucknow, Aug 20: A day after wrestler Narsingh Yadav was handed a four-year ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on a doping charge, stopping him from participating in the Rio Olympics, his mother Bhulna Devi has demanded a CBI probe into the "conspiracy to eliminate him from the Olympics".

"If I could make it to New Delhi, I would have asked Prime Minister Modi on why this grave injustice has been meted out to my son while the conspirators are roaming free," she added.

The distraught mother in Neema village, Varanasi said that there was a deep-rooted conspiracy to keep Narsingh out of the Olympics and that his food was laced with banned substance during his training camp, prior to the games.

Village Chief Ram Pyare Singh said that they were very hopeful that once Narsingh would contest, his medal will be a surety but we are all very sad that a conspiracy eliminated him from the Olympics. We are, however, proud that the son of our village has made it big.
