Symonds assures to make comeback in Australian side

Melbourne, Sep 16 (UNI) Beleaguered all-rounder Andrew Symonds, who was dropped from the national side over disciplinary reasons, has vowed to make a comeback and regain his place in the Australian team soon.

Earlier this month, Symonds was sent back home after he missed a compulsory team meeting in Darwin during the ODI series against Bangladesh and instead went out for fishing.

Later, he was ruled out of the Australian side, which is scheduled fly to India for a Test and ODI series next Sunday, on disciplinary grounds.

''I am trying to improve myself and the process is on which will not only help me become a better cricketer but a better person as well,'' Symonds told reporters at a training session for his state side Queensland here today.

''I'm looking forward to the challenge of taking up cricket again for my club, state and country, hopefully.

''I apologise for some of the things that I've done over the last little bit, and hopefully I'll come out of it a better person and not make those mistakes in the future,'' he added.
