Tokyo, August 7: A day after a throw of 87.58M by javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won India its first gold at the Tokyo 2020, ending the nation's campaign with best ever Olympics medal haul of seven, the Games concluded on Sunday (August 8).
Neeraj's gold, a first in the athletics for India at an Olympics was the toast of India, as curtains descended on Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which was a success story on it's own amidst the raging coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
After being delayed by a year due to COVID-19 pandemic and with the threat of cancellation hanging over its head, the Tokyo Games shone like a bright ray of sunshine as the host city ensured a seamless run of the Olympics.
The closing ceremony was held behind closed doors on Sunday as the Tokyo Olympics came to an end. International Oympic Committee chief Thomas Bach officially declared the Games closed at the closing ceremony.
India's bronze-medallist, wrestler Bajrang Punia was the flag-bearer for the country at the closing ceremony. India recorded their best-ever finish with seven medals, including, one gold, two silvers and four bronze medals. USA finised on top of the table.

An Olympics like no other comes to an end.
