US Open: Leander Paes and Czech partner Stepanek advance to semis

New York, Sept 4: India's Leander Paes along with his Czech partner Radek Stepanek advanced to the semifinals of men's doubles event at the US Open.

The fourth seeded Indo-Czech pair defeated the World No. 5 combination of Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Netherland's Jean-Julien Rojer 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 on Tuesday.

Indo-Czech pair will face top seeded Bryan brothers in their semifinal match.

The Indo-Czech pair will now face top-seeded American brothers Mike and Bob Bryan, who defeated 12th-seeded British pair of Colin Fleming and Jonathan Marray 7-6 (7), 6-4 in their quarterfinal match.

Meanwhile India's Sania Mirza along with her Chinese partner Zheng Jie will be facing Hsieh Su-wei of Taiwan and Peng Shuai of China in their quarterfianl match later today.
