In a shock upset at the Asian Games 2018, World Champion India was defeated 24-23 by South Korea, in the men's kabaddi competition. India had earlier defeated Bangladesh and Sri Lanka comfortably in their first two games. This is India's first ever defeat in the history of the Asian Games. Indian coach Ram Mehar Singh attributed the defeat to a lack of self-confidence in the dying minutes of the match.
