Asia Cup 2022: India vs Hong Kong: All you need to know

After their thrilling win over Pakistan, Rohit Sharma's men will take on Hong Kong in their second Asia Cup 2022 match on Wednesday (Aug. 31).

India began their campaign with an edge-of-the-seat five-wicket win in their blockbuster clash against Pakistan.

Having avenged their last year's T20 World Cup loss against their arch-rivals, the focus now shifts to their second tie of the multi-nation tournament.
Though already assured, a win against Hong Kong will seal their passage to the Super 4.
Favourites:
India will enter the match as the overwhelming favourites, while minnows Hong Kong will hope to at least put up a fight against the defending champions
Being an associate nation, a contest against Hong Kong is a rare event. Having played some fine cricket to qualify, this is only the second time Hong Kong will face India
The last time the two nations met was also in the Asia Cup, which was held in Karachi in 2008
In their first and only meeting, India had handed Hong Kong a massive 256 run defeat

Incidentally, current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is the only member from that team who will be playing during India's match against Hong Kong on Wednesday
A win against HK will catapult the Men in Blue into the Super 4 as the top team from Group 1, while Pakistan and Hong Kong will battle for the second spot
Hong Kong will have their task cut out with India's bowling attack putting up a stellar show in their opening game. India's pace attack pocketed all 10 wickets during their opener against Pakistan.
Meanwhile Kohli, who got off to a nervy start - but put some runs on the board, will hope for a big knock as he looks to bounce back from his lean patch
Another big task for HK will be taming Hardik Pandya. Pandya's comeback has been sensational as he put up a stellar all round show in the opener to bag the Man of the Match Award
Hong Kong will be playing their opener in the group stage after remaining unbeaten in the Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers
India will take on Hong Kong at the Dubai International Stadium. The match, which will be telecast on Star Sports Network, will start at 7:30pm IST.
