Ahead of their last league game, Dhoni was asked whether this will be his last match for CSK. Dhoni put all doubts to rest as he confirmed he's not done yet.
Definitely (coming back to play in IPL 2023), because it will be unfair to not say thank you to Chennai. Won'e be nice to do that to CSK fans - MSD ahead of the final league game against RR.
Dhoni has led CSK right from its inception - since 2008. The 40-year-old was one of the four players to be reatined by CSK ahead of the 2022 mega auction.
Under Dhoni's captaincy, CSK won the IPL title in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021.

In the two seasons when CSK was banned, Dhoni played for the Rising Pune Supergiants. While he captained the side in 2016, Steve Smith led RPS in 2017.
While CSK has clinched the title four times, Dhoni has led Chennai to nine IPL finals.
In the inaugural IPL season, Dhoni led Chennai to the IPL final, where Super Kings lost to Rajasthan Royals.
In the current season, Chennai finished ninth on the points table, with just four wins from 14 games.
