KL Rahul - First Indian to cross 500 runs in five IPL seasons in a row

KL Rahul is one of the most consistent players in the Indian Premier League after Australian batter David Warner. And the LSG skipper recently became the first Indian player to cross 500 runs in five successive seasons in IPL.

Rahul crossed the landmark with an unbeaten 68 against KKR, sealing a playoff spot for LSG in their debut IPL season. Here is a look at his numbers since 2016, when he played his first full season.
IPL 2016 – 397 runs (5 fifties) for RCB
IPL 2018 – 659 runs (6 fifties) for PBKS
IPL 2019 – 593 runs (1 hundred and 6 fifties) for PBKS
IPL 2020 – 670 runs (1 hundred and 5 fifties) for PBKS
IPL 2021 – 626 runs (6 fifties) for PBKS
IPL 2022 – 537 runs (2 hundred and 3 fifties) for LSG
Overall in IPL, Rahul has scored 3810 runs, including 30 fifties and 4 hundreds, at an average of 47.63 and strike rate of 136.22 in 108 matches.
Rahul has hit 324 fours and 159 sixes as of May 19, 2022 in his IPL career.
Rahul is next best to Warner, who has crossed the 500-run mark six times in his career and is also closing in on the landmark for the seventh straight season.
Rahul currently is second to Jos Buttler, who leads the orange cap race with 627 runs.
