Longest sixes in IPL history: From Albie Morkel to MS Dhoni

The Indian Premier League has seen sixes struck for fun and some of those maximums have gone into stands and sometimes even out of the stadium. Here we take a look at some of the longest sixes in IPL history.
Mark Hoover
The former South African all-rounder, who in 2008 was playing for Chennai Super Kings, struck the longest six in IPL history.
Albie Morkel – 125 meters
The former Indian pacer surprisingly takes the second position with second biggest maximum in IPL during his stint at Kings XI Punjab in 2011.
Praveen Kumar – 124 meters
The former Australia wicketkeeper, who was part of Kings XI Punjab, is third in the list for the longest six in IPL in 2011.
Adam Gilchrist – 122 meters
The Indian batter, who represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2010, struck the fourth longest six in IPL, hitting ball out of the park.
Robin Uthappa – 120 meters
Former West Indies and RCB batter, who holds the record for most sixes in T20 format, is unsurprisingly on the list in fifth position for one of the maximums struck in 2013.
Chris Gayle – 119 meters
The king of sixes in India, Yuvraj, who was part of his home franchise Kings XI Punjab im 2009, is level with Gayle for the longest six in IPL history.
Yuvraj Singh – 119 meters
In 2008, the Kiwi batter, who was a fan-favourite in Royal Challengers Bangalore, is also level with Yuvraj and Gayle for the one of the longest six.
Ross Taylor – 119 meters
The former Indian opener, who was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017, is also in the list for the longest six in IPL.
Gautam Gambhir – 117 meters
The Australian all-rounder was finishing games well during the title-winning year 2016 for Sunrisers Hyderabad and sits level with Gambhir.
Ben Cutting – 117 meters
The veteran Chennai Super Kings star has struck the most sixes in the final over of a matches in IPL and is unsurprisingly part of this list as well.
MS Dhoni – 115 meters
