WWE Mixed Match Challenge: Result of third quarter-final match

Bengaluru, March 14: Last night we witnessed the last stage of the quarter-final of the Mixed Match Challenge. It started with 12 teams at the very beginning and we are now down to four now.

Two teams from Smackdown Live squared off in a mixed tag team match this week with just three weeks remaining for the final. The match happened once the Tuesday Night's original show went off air.

Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode teamed up to take on Rusev and Lana. The real-life couple had already added enough heat before this matchup with multiple rants about their opponents on social media. Team Robe Warriors also reverted to create an interesting scenario before this exciting contest.

Charlotte and Bobby Roode made their entery first and posed in the ring, while they were quickly followed by Rusev and Lana which created a heated confrontation. Rusev shoved Roode before the match started and this forced Charlotte to intervene and shove Rusev back. Lana was not happy with this and slapped Roode hard.

Thereafter, The Queen and The Ravishing Russian started the contest. The Smackdown women’s champion went for an early figure-four. But, Lana pushed her opponent hard into the ropes. She also delivered the double knees to Charlotte for a two count. Lana continued the attack with a Fallaway Slam. The commentary was quite impressed with Lana’s technicality inside the ring.

Bobby Roode received the tag and started with chops to Rusev. The offensive moves were countered with a kick from the Bulgarian Brute. He also delivered another kick on the shoulder of Rusev. Later, Roode’s pose was mocked by his opponent which forced him to miss a flying headbutt attempt. Charlotte was tagged into the match.

Lana was about to be locked in a figure four leglock but Rusev pulled his wife. In reply, Rusev received a slap from the Queen. Rusev had the tag that forced to re-enter the match which ended in quick time, afterward, (courtesy WWE.com)

“Charlotte responded by engaging Rusev with a series of chops, and The Bulgarian Brute decided to mock her inability to hurt him. As he joked, however, he failed to see Roode climb back into the ring behind him. In a flash, Roode planted his surprised adversary with the Glorious DDT for the huge win.”

Two teams had already reached the semi-final of the Mixed Match Challenge. Alexa Bliss-Braun Strowman and Asuka-The Miz were the teams who are now joined by Charlotte Flair-Bobby Roode. Next week, we will see the first semi-final match between the first two mentioned teams.
