Dhoni bats for Yuvraj despite poor form

By Staff

Adelaide, Feb 17 (UNI) Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni today justified the selection of the out-of-form Yuvraj Singh ahead of swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag for today's CB series match against Australia.

''Viru was not fully fit,'' Dhoni said. ''As for Yuvraj, he would be part of the team and play in all the games.'' Dhoni also defended his deputy's dismissal. Yuvraj contributed 26 before being caught out by Stuart Clark off the bowling of Brad Hogg.

''The shot was on. He had to punish the bad ball. The execution perhaps might have been incorrect but the intention was true,'' he said.
