Bengaluru, Dec 3: Even the last time Goldberg appeared on WWE Raw, the graphics on the television screen has shown that he is only a WWE 2K17 superstar.

Like the other Raw superstars, he is not a WWE Raw roster member. But, that does not mean that his contract was extended to a certain capacity.

We have got some updates regarding his role from the veteran journalist, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

According to him, Vince McMahon wants to build him as a special attraction in the WWE. His role will resemble the same role that Brock Lesnar portrays since his return in the WWE in 2012.

So, Goldberg will be working on special dates for WWE to be a star attraction on the shows.

Meltzer also clarified that McMahon is still continuing with the idea of a Lesnar-Goldberg match. This would certainly be a boost to the ratings for WWE Raw en route to Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania.

The Chairman was much worried about the fallen ratings over the year 2016 and hence he wanted Goldberg to stick around for some more.

This, in turn, will give more options to the WWE creative while penciling big matches for Wrestlemania. Initially, the idea was to incarnate a feud between Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar for the grandest stage.

But, now that Goldberg is around, the rematch between him and Lesnar is also being considered.

As reported earlier, Brock Lesnar might appear in the Royal Rumble PPV to cost Goldberg, his title shot.

This will set up the 3rd edition of the mega match at Wrestlemania. But, that will be the same story from the year 2004.

The main event of Wrestlemania 20 was booed by the fans and hence WWE would think twice before repeating the same story, again.

Goldberg is a clear shot babyface in the feud. While many rumours suggested that his return will face a tremendous backlash at Toronto but that was not the case.

Except for Brock Lesnar's hometown of Minneapolis, he was given a thunderous ovation in every arena.
