Born in Romania, she spent her early years in an orphanage. Her biological parents faced financial struggles, partly due to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. She recalls the day she was adopted as both happy and frightening. Her adoptive parents reassured her that she was their own child. She had PDD and did not speak until age five.

She made her debut for Greece in 2013. Her most memorable achievement is winning gold in the S4 50m backstroke at the 2018 European Championships in Dublin, Ireland. She was named Female Para Athlete of the Year by the Panhellenic Association of Sports Journalists in 2018 and 2019.
Her coach, Michalis Nikopoulos, has been a significant influence on her career. She admires Greek artistic gymnast Eleftherios Petrounias. Her personal philosophy is simple: "Relax and be healthy."
She aims to compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. This goal reflects her dedication to improving at a competitive level.
Apart from swimming, she enjoys dancing. In January 2022, she appeared on the Greek version of 'Dancing with the Stars', performing a routine in a wheelchair with professional dancer Marina Lampropoulou.
She studied Occupational Therapy and speaks English and Greek fluently. She is associated with the Tyrtaios Disabled Sports Association in Greece.
