Bangladesh are favourites to win the series as they earlier made lightwork of Ireland during the ODI series and also defeated World Champions England in the ODI series 3-0 to show their strength at home. Bangladesh batters are in hot form as they scored 207 runs in the first T20I as well.

Openers Rony Talukdar (67) and Litton Das (47) provided a firework-filled start after opting to bat first. Shamim Hossain (30) and Shakib Al Hasan (20) did some quick scoring down the order as well to show the side's middle- and lower-order strength.

Najmul Hossain has been good form as he scored runs at an average of 43.75 in the last 10 games while scoring 350 runs. Litton too has 337 runs to his name in as many games while spinner Hasan Mahmud has been in wicket-taking form with 12 wickets in 9 games.

Express pacer Taskin Ahmed took a career-best of 4/16 in the last game while taking three wickets in a single over when Ireland threatened to chase down a rain-truncated target. Taskin took three wickets in the last ODI against Ireland as well and has taken 16 wickets in the last 10 games.

For Ireland, Graham Hume was an exception among his misfiring bowlers in the team as he took eight wickets during the ODI series in three games and took a solitary wicket in the first T20 as well. Lorcan Tucker has been in good form with the bat as he has been averaging 38-plus in the last 10 games while Paul Stirling has been striking at a rate above 140.
