Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report
Arun Jaitley Stadium is a venue that has produced a mixture of a few high-scoring contests and some low-scoring thrillers. The average score batting first in IPL here is 162. With an evening match, there is a possibility of dew in the later part of the match.
The first match in IPL 2023 saw the hosts struggled to get to 162 riding on Axar Patel's cameo of 36, but the visiting GT side rode on B Sai Sudarshan unbeaten fifty to reach the target with 11 balls to spare.
In the second match, Axar once again starred for DC with a 25-ball 54, but that knock went in vain as the target of 173 was chased down by Mumbai Indians in a last-ball thriller after a Rohit Sharma fifty.
Both the matches this season has seen the chasing side win the contest. The venue history also suggests the team batting second has a huge advantage. So, the captain that wins the toss will have no hesitation to follow that pattern.
