ICC World Cup 2023: India to play warm-up match against England - Check Out Full Schedule

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule was announced on Tuesday (June 27) in Mumbai. The tournament is set to start on October 5 and will continue till November 19.

Both the opening and final matches will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and it promises to be an exciting encounter as ten teams fight for the ultimate glory.

BCCI has chosen 10 venues for the World Cup, while two additional venues have been picked up for the warm-up matches. Along with the ten stadiums which will host the World Cup matches, Trivandrum and Guwahati have been picked who will host some of the warm-up fixtures.

Like the curtain raiser of all the World Cups, this edition will also have a few warm-up matches where the participating teams will lock horns against each other to check their preparation levels. With the World Cup in a round-robin format this time, all of the warm-up match participants will eventually play each other again in a few days time in the main tournament.

The warm-up matches are scheduled to be played from September 29 to October 3.

Which Stadiums will host the warm-up matches?

Hyderabad, Guwahati and Trivandrum will host the warm-up matches ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023.

Greenfield International Stadium - Trivandrum

Hyderabad will also three matches in the main tournament, two of them being Pakistan matches in the group stage.

Will India play any warm-up Matches?

Yes, India will also play a couple of warm-up games before their first match in the tournament against Australia on October 8.

India will be taking on England in one of their warm-up games, whereas they will also be up against one of the qualifiers teams in the preparatory phase.

West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Scotland, Oman and the Netherlands - these are the six teams who are in contention to fill the remaining two berths of the World Cup and are playing in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.
