ONE Friday Fights 16 Results: Kongthoranee Bests ET After Three-Round Muay Thai Thriller

The athletes competing at ONE Friday Fights 16 pleased the crowd inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and worldwide audience from start to finish, ending the organization's signature card with nine highlight-reel finishes.

Although three battles went the distance, all of them produced non-stop action from bell to bell, giving the audience plenty to talk about from the May 12 bill in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the night's main event, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai saw off his Thai counterpart, ET TDed99, by majority decision. But he did not have it easy against his rival in this nine-minute Muay Thai war.

The Sor Sommai athlete dug into his rival's defense with powerful leg kicks before blasting him with straight lefts that seemed to have taken a large chunk of his confidence.

ET didn't retreat despite his foe's onslaught, though. The TDed 99 fighter stayed sharp in defense and, against traffic, countered with flying knees and spinning elbows that narrowly missed the mark.

After three rounds of tightly contested action, Kongthoranee's output was clearly the decider, and the Thai phenom left the ONE ring with his hand raised for the second time in the span of three months.

Eighteen-year-old Yodduangjai Sor Jor Montree and 21-year-old Dentungtong Singha Mawynn's three-round flyweight Muay Thai battle in the co-main event inside the packed arena in Bangkok, Thailand, was just as enticing, if not, better.

The pair of youngsters went in search of a match-winning knockout from the get-go. Unfortunately, their phenomenal arsenal - both offense and defense - cut out each other's opportunity at a finish.

After a barnburner contest, the teenage sensation from Thailand secured a hard-fought unanimous decision win over the Singha Mawynn representative, a massive victory that improved his overall striking record to 91-20-3.
