SummerSlam: Revisiting Brock Lesnar and his unmatched legacy at WWE PLE
Bengaluru, August 4: If Shawn Michaels is dubbed as Mr. WrestleMania, without a doubt that position goes to Brock Lesnar when it comes to SummerSlam. Show-stealing moments, the foundation of Suplex City, stellar in-ring moments - this man has done it all in the summer spectacle.
There are several candidates for the Mr. SummerSlam tag including Bret "The Hitman" Hart, WWE Hall of Famers like Triple H and The Undertaker, and even the current undisputed champion in the WWE, Roman Reigns.

But nobody had such a phenomenal run at the Biggest Party of the Summer than Brock Lesnar that began at the age of just 25 years in 2002. That year, he pinned the former WWE franchise player, The Rock.
Not only did "The Next Big Thing" become the youngest WWE Champion of all time at SummerSlam 2002 but it also happened at the expense of one of the most valuable icons in pro-wrestling history.
Speaking of icons, history repeated itself at the 2014 edition where Lesnar again decimated another WWE franchise player John Cena to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship which marked the beginning of the 'Suplex City' era.
Downing The Cenation Leader with a barrage of German Suplex and F5s in a completely one-sided match, the statement was clear that he was there to rule the WWE with authority for years to follow.
Two years later, The Beast Incarnate was again unleashed after he won the main event against Randy Orton via TKO. Multiple elbow shots to the skull of The Viper left him lying in a pile of blood and thus creating a terrorizing moment for the WWE Universe.
The domination also continued in 2012 and 2013 when Lesnar defeated two more marquee players, Triple H and CM Punk, respectively. In addition, he also broke Triple H's hand to make it clear that he likes to hurt people.
Also like a true veteran, WWE utilized Brock Lesnar to put over names like Roman Reigns in 2018 as he suffered a clean pin-fall loss. A year later, the same outcome was observed, this time against Seth Rollins.
Last year, again Reigns defeated Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match but it was the latter one who stole the show using a tractor in the match. Lifting the entire ring with a forklift was indeed the "damnest thing in WWE history."
Counting last year's match, Brock Lesnar now has more SummerSlam main events than anyone in history and the count is 9 (2002, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022). This year, he goes up against Cody Rhodes in the final match of their trilogy.
