Annie's rowing journey started at the University of Birmingham. Encouraged by her coach, she applied to become part of the British Para rowing team. This decision set her on a path that would see her achieve notable success in the sport.

Achievements and Awards

In 2021, Annie was named the Rising Star of the Year for the West Midlands region at the British Rowing Awards. This recognition highlighted her potential and dedication to rowing. Her most memorable achievement came in 2024 when she won gold in the mixed PR3 double sculls event at the European Championships in Szeged, Hungary.

Challenges and Setbacks

Despite her successes, Annie faced challenges. In 2022, she and Dan Powell were selected to compete in the PR3 mixed double sculls at the World Championships in Racice, Czechia. Unfortunately, they had to withdraw due to illness. This setback did not deter her from continuing her rowing career.

Role as a Lifeguard

In addition to her rowing career, Annie is also a qualified lifeguard. In 2019, she passed the training programme to become a lifeguard for Ryde Beach Lifeguards on the Isle of Wight. She finds this role rewarding and hopes to inspire others to pursue their passions.
