Anton Kol Biography

He made his debut for Ukraine at the 2013 World Championships in Montreal, Canada. His journey in competitive swimming began with this significant event, marking the start of his professional career.

Training and Coaching

Training six times a week, he has shown immense dedication to his sport. His personal coach, Gennady Vdovychenko, has been guiding him since 2002. The athlete credits his coach and Valeriy Sushkevych, president of the Ukrainian Paralympic Committee, as major influences in his career.

Awards and Recognition

His performance at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo earned him the Order for Courage [second class] in Ukraine. He also received the Order for Courage [third class] for his achievements at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, he holds the title of Master of Sport of International Class in Ukraine.

Personal Philosophy and Inspirations

The athlete finds swimming to be a source of stress relief and pleasure. He admires US swimmer Michael Phelps and draws inspiration from his achievements. His philosophy is simple: "Water relieves stress from me. It really brings me pleasure. I forget about all of my problems when I am in the pool."

Future Ambitions

Looking ahead, he aims to win gold at the Paralympic Games. This goal drives him to continue training rigorously and striving for excellence in his sport.

Outside of swimming, he enjoys travelling and speaks English, Russian, and Ukrainian. He is married to Olena and represents the club Invasport in Dnipro.
