Antonios Tsapatakis Biography

He learned to swim at age five in Chania, Greece. His love for the sea was evident from a young age. He often played with friends, diving from rocks and exploring the waters. His first experience with swimming was at a city pool when he was five.

Turning Point

After sustaining an impairment, he began training and competing in Para swimming in 2009. He made his debut for Greece at the European Championships in Reykjavik, Iceland, the same year. His decision to continue living and being strong became his driving force.

Inspirations and Philosophy

He draws inspiration from British Formula One driver James Hunt. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: "If you have a goal, just go for it, nothing or no one can stop you. This is freedom - willing it makes you free."
