Avinash Sharma started his career in the media industry as a reporter at a news agency NBS Journal in Noida for a brief period of 10 months. He then joined a political web portal NitiCentral.com where he worked as a Sub Editor for a period of two years.
At NitiCentral he worked with the news desk and covered political and sports stories. Avinash later joined Oneindia in 2014 as a Sub-Editor where he started with the news desk, doing political stories and breaking news.
Due to his keen interest in sports, he switched full-time to the Sports Desk at Oneindia and that opened a whole new avenue for him.
In 2017, Avinash started working hard with the team to make Oneindia's latest offering i.e. Mykhel.com a success. In the last 5 years, he has covered several sporting events in the country and interviewed several top athletes/sportspersons in the world for Mykhel.
He was promoted as Sr. Sub Editor in 2016 and in 2020 he was promoted as Chief Sub Editor at Mykhel. He was elevated as the Editor in late 2022. Apart from writing news stories, analyses, and interviews, Avinash also works on the multimedia front and produces videos by anchoring shows and interviewing athletes for Oneindia's YouTube Channels and Facebook Pages.
He's an alma mater of Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, where he pursued an MA in Mass Communication & Journalism.
