India's Lakshya Sen and doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be in quarter-final action at the All England Open Badminton Championships 2025 in Birmingham on Friday (March 14).
Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen will take on sixth seed Li Shifeng of China in the men's singles last eight match after eliminating defending champion and third-seed, Jonatan Christie in the second round on Thursday (March 13).

The Asian Games champion Li, on the other hand, fought hard in three games to overcome France’s Toma Junior Popov to seal his quarter-final berth. This will be the 12th meeting between Sen and Li.
In the 11 previous meetings, Sen has got the better of the Chinese shuttler 7 times, including a 4-1 record in their recent five matches across tournaments. This will, however, be their first meeting in the All England Open.
In women’s doubles, Treesa and Gayatri pulled off a comeback win to oust eighth seeds Kim Hye-jeong and Kong Hee-yong of South Korea en-route to their third All England quarterfinal.
The Indian duo will next face second seeds Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning of China, who eased past Thailand duo of Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard to reach the women’s doubles quarter-final. This will be the sixth meeting between the Indian and Chinese pair.
In their previous five meetings, the Chinese duo have had the upper hand with four wins to the solitary win of the Indian duo. Jolly and Gopichand beat Li and Tan in their first meeting in 2023, but have since lost four on the trot in their head-to-head battles.
