India's Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand registered a comeback win over eighth seeds Kim Hye-jeong and Kong Hee-yong of South Korea to seal the women's doubles quarter-final berth in the All England Open Badminton Championships 2025 in Birmingham on Thursday (March 13).
Ranked 15th in the BWF rankings, Treesa-Gayatri duo fought back from a game down to defeat the current world number one Korean pair 15-21, 21-18, 21-18 in the women's doubles second round match that lasted an hour and 27 minutes on court 2 at the Utilita Arena Birmingham.

Trailing the Korean duo 17-18 in the decider, the Indian pair scored four successive to seal their third All England Open quarter-final. Jolly and Gopichand will next face second seeds Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning of China in the last eight on Friday (March 14).
Also joining Treesa-Gayatri in the quarter-final round was singles shuttler Lakshya Sen, who knocked out the defending champion and third-seed, Jonatan Christie, in the men's singles round of 16 clash.
The Commonwealth Games champion Sen defeated Christie in straight games by a scoreline of 21-13, 21-10 n 36 minutes to make it to the last eight stage of the men's singles competition on Thursday (March 13). The 23-year-old will next face sixth seed Li Shifeng of China.
In women's singles competition, however, the Indian challenge ended after Malvika Bansod suffered a straight games defeat to Japanese third seed Akane Yamaguchi by a scoreline of 16-21, 13-21.
In the men's doubles competition, the popular pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty had to bow out in the round of 16 after the duo chose to retire due to an injury. This gave their Chinese opponents, Xie HN and Zeng WH, a walkover.
In the mixed doubles competition, Rohan Kapoor & Ruthvika Gadde delivered a tough fight against 5th seeds Feng Yan Zhe & Wei Ya Xin but could not break through as they lost by 10-21, 12-21. Here is a look at the Indian results from Thursday:
