Sydney, August 3: Top Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy as well as the rising Priyanshu Rajawat will be in Australian Open Badminton 2023 quarter-final action on Friday (August 4) at the State Sports Center in Sydney, Australia.
Sindhu eased past compatriot Akarshi Kashyap in straight games 21-14, 21-10, while Srikanth ousted Chinese Taipei's Su Li Yang also in straight games 21-10, 21-17 and, Prannoy came from a game down to defeat another Chinese Taipei shuttler Chi Yu Jen 19-21, 21-19, 21-13.

Another singles shuttler Rajawat, on the other hand, defeated Chinese Taipei's Wang Tzu Wei 21-8, 13-21, 21-19 to book an all-India quarterfinal clash in Sydney. There could be one more all-India clash if two of the men's singles matches finish in favour of the Indians.
In women's singles quarter-final, fifth seed Sindhu will face fourth seed Beiwen Zhang of USA. The two-time Olympic medallist Indian shuttler has faced the American ten times so far and won in six of those meetings.
In men's singles quarter-finals, sixth-seeded Prannoy will take on top seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia, while Srikanth will face compatriot Rajawat. Srikanth and Rajawat could meet Prannoy in the semifinal if the latter wins his match.
This will be Prannoy's fiftth meeting with Ginting, and it's 2-2 in their head to head battle. Srikanth and Rajawat, on the other hand, will meet for the first time in a competitive match.
