Dubai, April 30: India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will take on Malaysia's Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi in the men's doubles final of the Badminton Asia Championships 2023 at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall in Dubai on Sunday (April 30).
The CWG 2022 champions assured themselves a medal by reaching the semifinal, where their opponents were forced to retire midway through the second game. The Indians were, however, leading 1-0 after winning first game 21-18 before the second game was called off at 13-14.

Earlier, the Indian duo defeated Indonesia's third-seeded pair Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan 21-11, 21-12 in quarter-final match that lasted for just 28 minutes.
In the earlier rounds, the 2022 World Championships bronze medallists had defeated unseeded Malaysian pair Tan Kian Meng and Tan Wee Kiong in straight games (21-14, 21-17) before a second round straight games win (21-13, 21-11) over Jin Yong and Na Sung Seung of South Korea.
Their final opponents from Malaysia, on the other hand, overcame fourth-seeded Japanese pair Takura Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi by a scoreline of 21-16, 26-24 in their semi-final match that lasted for 50 minutes.
Earlier, the Malaysian duo got past Satwik-Chirag's compatriots Dhruv Kapilla and MR Arjun, another Japanese duo in Ayata Endo-Yuta Takei before slaying top seeds Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the quarter-final.
The two pairs have so far crossed paths six times and it's all square as Satwik-Chirag and Yew Sin-Ee Yi pair have won three matches each in the head to head battles. The Indian pair, however, have had the better of the Malaysian duo in the Swiss Open 2023 semifinal.
