The Commonwealth Games 2022 champions assured themselves a medal and a semi-final berth following a straight games win against Indonesia's third-seeded pair Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan.

The sixth-seeded Satwik-Chirag pair, who have been on the rise for the past few years, defeated the veteran Indonesia pair 21-11, 21-12 in quarter-final match that lasted for just 28 minutes on court 1.
In the earlier rounds, the 2022 World Championships bronze medallists had defeated unseeded Malaysian pair Tan Kian Meng and Tan Wee Kiong in straight games (21-14, 21-17) before a second round straight games win (21-13, 21-11) over Jin Yong and Na Sung Seung of South Korea.
Their semi-final opponents from Chinese Taipei, on the other hand, overcame Chinese seventh seeds Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang by a scoreline of 21-17, 19-21, 21-19 in the quarter-final match that lasted for 46 minutes.
In the first round, the Chinese Taipei pair eased past Japan's unseeded duo Keiichiro Matsui and Yoshinori Takeuchi via straight games (21-10, 21-16) and overcame second-seeded Malaysian pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik from a game down to win 14-21, 21-16, 21-19.
The two pairs have so far crossed paths twice and it's all square as Satwik-Chirag and Yang-Wang pair have won one match each in the head to head battles. While the Indian pair won the meeting in Tokyo 2020 group round, the Chinese Taipei pair won in group round of 2022 Thomas Cup.
